GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Emory College students begin their liberal arts education through a shared curricular experience anchored by an integrated set of General Education Requirements (GERs). These requirements include first-year seminars that support a successful transition to Emory College and help students establish meaningful connections with faculty in small classroom settings. Complimenting these seminars are general education courses designed to develop students’ competencies in oral and written communication, promote second-language study, introduce the methodologies of the humanities, social sciences, and the natural sciences, and deepen their perspectives on national, regional, and global history and culture.
